Welcome to Munay Wasi! The ultimate Eco Sanctuary where Pure Luxury Harmonises with Nature.

Om Swastiastu

My name is Jemma, I am the Creator this beautiful Sanctuary, and my team and I are so delighted that you would choose to stay with us. Matur Suksma (Thank You)

I would love to share a little bit about this very special place with you, perhaps it will touch your heart as it has mine.

Munay Wasi means ‘The House of Love’ in Quechua – the Native Language of The Andes people in Peru.

Why? You may ask…

Since 2012, I spend a few months of my year in Peru. I have been facilitating life changing retreats there since 2013. I have been trained in and work with the Shamanic traditions of the Andes, and I have a very deep love for the Mountains, the Earth and the people there that have become my family.

I share this same connection with Mama Bali. I also love to immerse myself in the rich, powerful & beautiful Balinese culture and tradition.

Having such a love for both, I wanted to weave these two Ancient cultures together, that share an equal love for nature, and reverence for the Ancestors and guardians present here on the land.

We have a lot to learn from these special people. And so Munay Wasi – The House of Love – was born.

Experience
the magic of Villa Q’ente.
It means the Hummingbird Villa.

In Villa Q’ente it feels like you are literally being hugged by the trees, yet you still receive the beautiful expansive view of the Sky, the Ocean and the Mountains and you have stunning sunset most of the year.

On that note, we are proud to say that no trees were taken or excavators used to cut out the Bukit (hill) in the creation of Munay Wasi.  Instead, we have worked as gently as possible with the existing topography to create private & unique high end luxury Villas, with stunning views to offer you an exquisite experience.

Discover Villa Batu Karu, a hidden sanctuary in the heart of Uluwatu, offering a perfect blend of modern eco-luxury and natural beauty.

Discover Villa Batu Karu, designed for those seeking tranquility, this one-bedroom villa boasts breathtaking Sea, Mountain and Sunset views, a private infinity pool, elegant architecture, floor to ceiling windows and a traditional thatched roof, creating a peaceful yet luxurious ambiance.

Uluwatu is known for its stunning Nature, yet there a few places close to everything where serenity can still be found.

Preservation of Nature is of absolute importance to us. We don’t believe nature has to be destroyed for Luxury to be created. We can have both.

Utmost care and consideration has been made to preserve the nature and what the Balinese people call ‘Taksu’ on the land - meaning, we maintain the delicate balance of energy.

We have a very strong personal relationship with the family that own the land we lease for Munay Wasi. Together we care-take and steward the land in a way that is respectful to their Ancestors and the Protectors of the land that have resided here for hundreds, if not thousands of years.

In fact, you may even have the pleasure of meeting Ibu Nanda as she makes our daily offerings or Pak Nanda as he passionately looks after all of the plants and trees around the villas.

You will especially see Ibu Nanda there on powerful days like Full or New Moon. Please don’t be alarmed if you see her at the front door or in the garden – she welcomes your participation in the Ceremonies so please feel free to watch or join in if you would like! You can read more about Balinese culture and Ceremony in our visitor guide.

The story goes that for 20 years many people had asked to lease this land from them. But the guidance from their Ancestors was that they must wait until the right person came along. Why? Because we are very close to their most Sacred temple of their Ancestors.

One day during the 2020 pandemic before I became the custodian of the land, I was meditating at sunset here. Back then Uluwatu was still untouched green hills.

As I was about to leave, I saw one of the elders of the land. We locked eyes, saw straight into each-others heart and smiled! The next day I received a message asking if I would like to lease the land. Apparently, the Ancestors had arrived in a dream to Ibu Nanda to show her I was the person they had been waiting for.

I hold that gift very close to my heart, so everything that is done here is to maintain balance and harmony, to look after Nature in the way Nature looks after us. To be in Gratitude and reiprocity. It is why Munay Wasi feels so tranquil ad welcoming - I hope you can feel it too!

These very special people & are the living Ancestors of this land. We are blessed to have been given the permission to be here, and we are very blessed to have you here as our guest too.

My wish for you is that you are able to wind down, relax, be inspired and be held by the Magic of MUNAY WASI.
